pearlware platter

A rare pearlware platter, decorated with the façade of the Masonic Institution for Girls, St. George's Fields, Southwark also known as the Freemasons' Tavern with Masonic symbols border.

Built in the late 18thC to house the orphaned daughters of Freemasons.

The platter is 19 inches in length. It has a combed back.

A pearlware blue transfer printed platter. Circa 1830.

A highly decorative blue transfer printed meat platter with combed back in the "Roman vase" pattern. The scene depicts floral arrangement and song birds with fruit and a vase before a lakeside ruin. Festooned by a union border of roses, thistles and shamrocks.

Printed cartouche "Roman vase" and impressed crown.

19 inches by 14.25 inches.
